How do you make/create a fruit/gift baskets?
You should pick products that fit the occasion, color scheme, age, religion, sex, dietary restrictions, etc. of the recipient of the gift. You would then need to fill the bottom of your container with newsprint (newspaper without the print) almost to the rim of the container. At this time it would be a good idea to add a piece of floral foam to one side of the container to anchor the enhancements you%26#039;ll be using. Then you need to add shred to cover the newsprint. Shred comes in many different colors and styles, so be sure to look around before making your selection.


Your next step would be to add the products. I like to add the biggest or tallest products in the middle of the container and work my way forward. I have found the easiest method for me is to use skewers and strong packing tape to anchor the products. When you get to the back of the container, face your products outward so the back of the basket looks nice also.





When you are done adding products, you would then use silk flowers, tulle, decorative tissue paper, balloons, etc. to enhance your baskets and fill in any bare spots you may have. After you have finished enhancing the gift, you need to decide if you will shrink wrap or cellophane the gift basket. I choose to cellophane most of my designs, I just think it looks nicer. But, if you decide to leave a basket at a business for people to see, I would recommend shrink wrapping to prevent people from sampling and pulling apart the basket.


When you start to cellophane the basket, it might take a few times before you can get comfortable enough with the process of making the cellophane tight enough to look nice. I use curling ribbon the hold the cellophane in place and fan out the top.





You should include a handmade bow, in my opinion it just looks a lot better than a pull-bow. There are many ways to make handmade bows. I use the bowdabra. It%26#039;s very easy to use and comes with complete instructions. Ribbon comes in many different widths and colors. Remember to stay with the color scheme so everything flows together.





Ideally, you should leave three forms of advertising on the basket. These should include a gold-foiled sticker at the top of the cellophane fan, the enclosure card and your business card

Then you crumple up wrapping paper into large balls and put them into the bottom to fill the space. Something pretty that blends in and isn%26#039;t all that conspicuous.





Then you put your fruit and some small french cookies, some small boxes of designer coffee, candy or Godiva chocolates?





Make sure you arrange it pretty and cover up all the spaces in between so that it looks like it is full.





Get some corn husk grass or string grass from the craft store. (It looks like a big kids Easter basket grass but it is natural fibers and not vibrant green or plastic.)





put it in between the spaces you just can%26#039;t fill.





they sell shrink wrap that you put over the entire basket and then hit with a hairdryer that shrinks it tight to the basket and makes a nice seal. add a big fat pretty bow and





Voila! Expensive type basket for cheap!
Reply:We make baskets every year. Start at a thrift store to buy inexpensive baskets--there are many types to choose from. If you want to add more pizzazz to the baskets, spray paint them or hand paint designs right on the basket.





From there, we purchase what we want to place in them--fruit, candy, toys, books, coffee, soup mixes, tea, etc. Add some curled ribbons or other filling for color. Place the entire basket in shrink wrap gift bags (also available at discount stores), turn on the blow dryer to shrink the wrap. Tie more ribbons or attach bows to outside of bag.





The creativity in making these baskets is limitless. And you can personalize them very easily by filling them with specific items that the receiver will enjoy.

Reply:first, take one of those thatched baskets that look similar to the one in the picture. you should be able to get them at any craft store (i mean, it%26#039;s fall, they should have it)..


then, take some cloth or strips of cellophane or something like that to line the basket....you can skip this if you dont want to.


be creative with what you are gonna do next....


decorate it....maybe line it with some (fake) flowers, or twist a (fake) vine of flowers along the handle (you can skip this also)


think of stuff you can put in it: tea bags, instant coffee, food...etc. neatly put them inside, to that the biggest things go in the back..if they are all basically the same size, stack the things on the bottom and put the most delicate things on the top...
